February 2010 - Equus News

MH attended the Equine Canada conference in Montreal in February. I attended the National Course Conductor meeting about the Competition Coach & Competition Specialist Program updates which will be replacing the Coach 1 & 2.

March, 2010: Equus News
So much is happening here at Equus!

MH attended the Equine Canada Jumper Judge clinic and succesfully completed the exam. She will be shadow judging this upcoming season.

MH has registered for the Equine Canada Recorded Dressage Judge program. She has already completed most of the auditing expectations and will be competing Ruby at Second Level starting in April in order to meet the pre-requisites.

Thank you to Pony Up Tack Shop for helping to make our March Open House a success.

On Friday, March 19th, a group of Equus 3D riders are heading to the Can Am equine affair in London. We will be attending Susan Harris's presentations the Invisible Horse and Centered Riding.

RIDER NEWS:
Sidney has paired up with Aggy for the 2010 season. Her goals are to attend the first Young Rider clinic in May.
BJ is aiming for her first horse trials with Justice in July at Equus 3D
Bekah and Even are working on a great partnership.
Veronika has set her goals on Entry level Combined Training with her pony Hugs and Kisses
Nikki has been working hard with Beaver. They make a great team. Beaver really likes the new bars in the arena.
Bruce is part-boarding Red and the two of them will be competing at Equus 3D this summer. Bruce is pursuing his EC Rider 5.
Ellen is back on Jack after a successful season of ski-racing. Both Ellen and Heather with Houston are aiming for the hunt field as soon as the season opens.
Taria & Pez have been to their first dressage show last fall and now, the jumping starts!
Elaine and Chase cant wait to get on the road hacking again, Elaine is working hard on her position with positive results.
Ashley has been riding Shadow and the two of them get along well. It's nice to see the difference in this little mare from the starving state she was in to a happy healthy horse. Clipper's  is recovering very well and will be back in work soon.

Minnie is now officially an Equus 3D school horse for our more advanced riders. I'm really happy to have this nice quality hanoverian mare in the school. Wendy will be up once/week for a lesson and continue working on her coaching level.

April, 2010 - Equus News

Kid's Club has started with a great group of kids with varying experience. Equus Kid's Club is designed to teach beginner riders and to help more experienced riders improve their riding skills - all in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Stable management, safety, grooming, general horse care and crafts are all included! We're so excited to have current students and new riders join us for this program, running each Saturday from April 10 to May 29th. Contact us for more information on Kid's Club.

We offer ongoing registration for riding lessons at Equus. Lessons are based on the Equine Canada Learn to Ride Program. We offer small group, semi-private and private lessons on well trained school horses.

Congratulations to MH and Loupe! Equus homebred Dreitag Jaloupe scored over 60% in his first ever First Level show.

June 2010 - Loupe Does it Again!
Almost Summer Dressage Show May 2010, Champion First Level received 8's with overall scores of 65% & 66% from Jennie Loriston-Clarke MBE, FEI "I" Dressage Judge

Almost Summer Dressage Show May 2010, Champion Second Level with overall scores of 64% & 64% from Joanne Graham FEI "I" Dressage Judge

Congratulations to Stephanie Hougenhout and Lexie for winning Caledon Pre Training! Way to go!

July 1 2010 - Happy Canada Day
Arragon placed First at Wit's End Canadian Young Event Horse Show in the 2 year old In Hand Class. Congratulations to this up and coming young man!
