December 2005 Newsletter |
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! 1. Happy Holidays everyone! We’ll be running regular lessons throughout the holidays. 2. The school horses will be available for rent if anyone wants to get together to ride or hack. Cost is $15 + GST. You can send an email or call! 3. We are hoping to run a “fun” camp from January 2nd to the 6th, lots of games! 4. Please make sure that you read the new lesson policy effective January 1st and please fill in a 2006 waiver. 5. We had a great horse show on Dec.11th! Lots of happy riders and great school horses! We’ll make sure to run another show in the spring. 6. Lesson schedule has been rearranged for the winter months. Look for special activities! 7. Starting January 7th, we will be running a “kids club”. This is a 3hr program on Saturday afternoons which includes both riding and stable management including making horse treats etc. 8. I am also trying to set up a stable management course for all students who want to start working towards the new EC rider levels. I would like to set up testing every 3 months. This is a great way to monitor progress and to assess one’s skills. 9. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who support the farm and all the activities that we set up. Many of you provide countless volunteer hours and I couldn’t do it without your support. 10. To Maddy, Liz, Melissa, Natasha & Tyler! I’m very proud of your teaching! 11. To Loren, Craig, Maddy, Liz, Natasha, Tyler, Val. You’ve come a long way! You are “real” eventers now! 12. To all the other riders in the school, I really enjoy seeing each one of you develop as a rider and horse person. I know that the “little guys” learning to ride will be the Equus 3D event team in a few years. 13. It’s always a huge pleasure to reflect and to see what some of my students have done from Natalie Soligo who is now a practising vet in Caledon, to Graham Thom who competed at the Advanced level and Chantal Sutherland who is a leading female jockey at Woodbine. Who knows where each of you will end up! I especially like getting the phone call when former students are in town asking “ Can I come up for a ride?” The answer is always “Of course!” THANKS FOR A GREAT “2005" LOOKING FORWARD TO “2006”! |
